Literacy Assessments
Best for: K-5th graders
Informal reading assessments give you specific information about your child’s reading and spelling skills. We administer the assessments, write a summary, and schedule a follow-up phone call to provide you with information that can be shared with teachers. The assessments cover the following areas:
phonological awareness
letter-sound correspondences
decoding
spelling
oral reading fluency
Frequency: 1-hour assessment session in-person or via Zoom and follow-up phone call to discuss the results
Note: The reading assessments are not intended to be a substitute for a psychological diagnosis or formal psycho-educational testing. Assessments are administered with the intent to facilitate discussion and to assist in the provision of feedback related to the child's strengths and weaknesses.
